Marvin Salenger and Joe Donnelly together obtained a $1,000,000 verdict in Queens County Supreme Court last week. We represented a 61 year old motorcycle driver who was struck by a motor vehicle, throwing him from his bike. As a result, our client sustained five broken ribs and a small hemorrhage in the left lateral ventricle of his brain. Following the accident, he was fortunately able to continue his work as a dog trainer, but complained of memory loss, including forgetting names and faces, as well as social anxiety and depression. The defense alleged that our client’s memory loss was the result of chronic marijuana, alcohol, and prescription drug abuse, as well as the effects of his prior heart condition which required placement of multiple stents.
