Our client was a 37-year-old married man with three young children. He had a 17-year history of ulcerative colitis, for which he regularly treated with a gastroenterologist. He underwent a diagnostic colonoscopy, but the doctor failed to perform an adequate number of biopsies, missing cancerous polyps in the colorectal section of the colon. As a result, the cancer was diagnosed at Stage IV, having metastasized to his abdomen. He passed away prior to the conclusion of the case.
