Our client was a 44-year-old married man with one child. He was employed by the NYC Board of Education. A bus traveling northbound on E53rd Street in Brooklyn collided with our client, who was travelling eastbound on Linden Blvd. The bus then turned and struck two other parked cars before coming to rest upon the stoops and fences of 2 nearby homes on Linden Boulevard. Both operators claimed to have had the green light. A witness believed that the bus driver had fallen asleep. Our client suffered a cervical (neck) fracture causing total quadriplegia. He died in the hospital about 7 weeks later.
