Brooke McDonald

Associate

Brooke began her journey at Salenger, Sack, Kimmel & Bavaro as a law student intern in 2020,where she quickly developed a passion for medical malpractice and personal injury law. Mentored by the firm's experienced attorneys, she gained significant expertise during her internship, particularly in understanding the complexities of these fields.

After graduating law school, Brooke transitioned seamlessly into her role as an Associate Attorney, where she now handles a variety of sexual abuse and general liability cases, including car accidents, slip and falls, and product liability disputes, alongside her work in medical malpractice matters. Her contributions in the courtroom are invaluable—she has served as second chair in several trials, assisting with critical elements such as legal research, witness preparation, and the presentation of evidence.

Ms. McDonald has actively participated in several trials, including one of the first Child Victims Act trials in New York State, in June 2022, alongside her colleague, Edward Nitkewicz resulting in a $600K settlement.  As a key member of the Medical Malpractice Trial team, Brooke contributed to securing verdicts of $5.7 million and $1.82 million for medical malpractice in Nassau County for cases involving orthopedic surgeons' medical negligence. Brooke's achievement of securing a $1.82 million verdict earned her recognition with the Top 50 Jury Verdicts Award for Personal Injury in New York.

Brooke’s dedication to her clients stems from a personal experience with a medical error in her own family, giving her a unique perspective and empathy for those seeking justice in similar situations. She approaches each case with compassion and a deep understanding of what her clients are going through, offering them the guidance and support they need during a difficult time.

Her passion for personal injury law is evident in her involvement in high-stakes cases, including tragic birth injuries, delayed diagnoses, and wrongful death claims. Brooke's relentless pursuit of justice and extensive experience led to an $800K settlement in a pedestrian knockdown case. Ms. McDonald is deeply committed to her belief that "your health is your most valuable asset" and works tirelessly to defend her clients' rights and secure the compensation they deserve.

A Long Island native, Brooke graduated cum laude from Binghamton University in 2019 with a dual degree in Philosophy, Politics and Law, and Political Science. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Hofstra Law School in May 2022, where she continues to stay involved as an active alumna.
