Our client, a 49-year-old union carpenter and experienced foreman in a scaffolding company, faced a tragic accident while working on a tall building in bustling midtown Manhattan, encountering unexpected and life-altering events
While replacing panels on a wall with his colleagues, an unfortunate incident occurred. A vital part of the scaffold, a wooden plank, broke, causing the platform to twist dangerously. Situated near an open, unprotected stairwell, the situation became chaotic.
Amid the confusion, one co-worker fell onto the shaky scaffold, narrowly escaping serious harm, while another managed to stay safe. Our client was thrown by the collapsing scaffold and landed on a railing in the open stairwell, falling about 40 feet downward.
The aftermath was harrowing. Our client sustained severe fractures to his vertebrae, most notably at T-11, T-12, and L-4, resulting in irreversible paraplegia.
With strong commitment and expertise, we aimed to make sure those responsible were held accountable and that our client received compensation for their serious injuries. Our goal was to bring them comfort and closure during this challenging time.
