During construction at a Queens County police precinct, a police officer experienced a trip and fall incident due to a defect in the parking lot. The precinct was undergoing construction to replace underground fuel tanks at the time of the accident.
As a result of the fall, the officer sustained a fracture to his right shoulder after striking his right side. This injury rendered him unable to continue his duties as a police officer.
The case was resolved through a settlement before proceeding to trial.
