In a poignant case, a 31-year-old mother with a 7-year-old son was admitted to a Brooklyn Hospital with pancreatitis. The initial treatment effectively addressed the pancreatitis. However, during our client’s hospital stay, she acquired an additional infection.

Unfortunately, doctors failed to recognize the signs of this new infection and did not administer appropriate antibiotics promptly. This delay allowed the infection to progress, leading to a heart attack and subsequent brain damage.

Tragically, our client passed away six years later while the case was still pending. The case was settled just before trial.
