A 45-year-old married male, sought urgent medical attention at a Suffolk County hospital’s Emergency Room, displaying alarming signs and symptoms indicative of a heart attack. However, despite the urgency of the situation, the treating doctor’s attempts to intubate our client proved unsuccessful.
In a critical juncture, the doctor sought assistance from a respiratory therapist, yet even with combined efforts, they were unable to establish an airway. Tragically, the doctor failed to perform a cricothyroidotomy, a procedure that could have potentially saved our client’s life.
Regrettably, our client passed away in the Emergency Room, highlighting the devastating consequences of medical errors and negligence.
