In a case of alleged medical negligence, our client, a 51-year-old male, sought relief from back pain through surgical intervention. However, what should have been a routine procedure led to unforeseen complications and enduring consequences.
During the surgery, our client experienced a dural tear, leading to a cerebral spinal fluid leak. Despite attempts by the surgeon to repair the tear, the procedure proved unsuccessful, allowing the leak to persist unchecked. Tragically, without adequate follow-up care, our client was discharged from the hospital.
In the aftermath, our client’s condition deteriorated, resulting in permanent nerve damage, including incontinence. The profound impact of these medical errors underscores the importance of diligent oversight and follow-up care in healthcare settings.
