At Salenger, Sack, Kimmel & Bavaro, (SSKB), giving back to the community is more than just a value—it’s part of who we are. For the second time in a year, our dedicated team volunteered their time to support Island Harvest, a leading hunger-relief organization serving Long Island families in need.
This spring, SSKB employees rolled up their sleeves and joined Island Harvest at multiple food distribution sites across Long Island, including:
At each location, our staff helped sort, package, and distribute food to veterans, seniors, families, and individuals facing food insecurity. By working side by side with Island Harvest volunteers and staff, we were able to directly impact hundreds of lives—making sure nutritious food made it into the hands of those who need it most.
This isn’t the first time the SSKB team has stepped up to support our neighbors. Last November, our staff organized a firm-wide Thanksgiving food drive, collecting non-perishable items to donate to families ahead of the holiday season. In addition, this past autumn we partnered with Island Harvest for our first food distribution event at several locations—a powerful experience that left a lasting impression on everyone involved and inspired us to return.
For our attorneys, paralegals, intake specialists, and administrative staff, helping clients is only one part of the story. Whether it’s fighting for justice or helping those in need, our team is committed to making a difference wherever we can.
We’re proud to support the mission of Island Harvest and grateful for the opportunity to serve the Long Island communities we call home.
Founded in 1992, Island Harvest Food Bank is Long Island’s largest hunger-relief organization. It provides food and support services to more than 300,000 Long Islanders each year, including children, seniors, and veterans. In addition to food distribution, Island Harvest connects people to programs that help with job training, healthcare, and long-term food stability.
