Our client, a 46-year-old FedEx driver, encountered an unexpected incident while en route to a scheduled stop at a warehouse.

Navigating through the warehouse parking lot, our client encountered several large puddles of water, a common occurrence at the location, especially during light rain showers.

As he drove over what seemed to be a harmless puddle, the pavement unexpectedly collapsed, plunging approximately 4 feet below. Our client sustained injuries to his back and had to be extricated from the truck using a hydraulic lift.

The resulting injuries included a lumbar back injury that necessitated fusion surgery to address.
